Android Developer

About the role

We are looking for an Android Developer to join the Mass Market Product Team, responsible for Swisscom’s consumer services such as myCloud, TV, and related internet products. The role is based in Riga and works within a cross‑functional squad delivering Android and Android TV applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test, improve and maintain the Swisscom myCloud Android mobile app and TV version.
• Develop UI‑heavy front‑ends that integrate live TV, replay and streaming features.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, backend engineers and streaming specialists.
• Write and execute unit, UI and end‑to‑end tests, ensuring performance and visual quality across devices.
• Contribute to technical architecture, state‑management patterns and engineering best practices.
• Continuously improve scalability, maintainability and KPI monitoring.
• Participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipeline maintenance (GitLab CI) and agile ceremonies.
• Help shape the future of Swisscom’s client software portfolio.

Required profile

• Strong professional communication skills in English.
• Experience working in cross‑functional teams with designers, product owners and backend engineers.
• Willingness to contribute to other projects and work with different tech stacks.

Required skills

• Android development with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and Views.
• Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, WorkManager and background processing.
• MVVM, Clean Architecture, Hilt/Dagger dependency injection.
• Modular, scalable and testable app design, offline‑first synchronization.
• Room database, REST APIs, authentication & security.
• Multi‑form‑factor builds for mobile, Android TV and tablets.
• Comprehensive testing (unit, UI, E2E) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Performance profiling, ANR analysis and Google Play release management.
• Media handling with Media3/ExoPlayer and third‑party SDK integration.
