Accounting and Financial Reporting Team Lead

About the role

Paybis is seeking an experienced accountant to lead its finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will own the numbers behind a fast‑growing, multi‑entity fintech, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance across several jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the monthly/quarterly close process for all group entities.
• Prepare statutory financial statements for Latvia, US, Canada, Poland and other jurisdictions.
• Coordinate multi‑currency, multi‑entity consolidation and annual statutory audits.
• Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts and IFRS‑aligned accounting policies.
• Prepare and submit MiCA/PSD2 prudential reports and own‑funds calculations to Latvijas Banka.
• Oversee crypto‑asset accounting, fair‑value measurement, custody and wallet‑to‑ledger reconciliations for 90+ assets.
• Handle AP/AR processes, expense management, vendor payments and internal financial controls.
• Support treasury functions, cash positioning across fiat and crypto balances, and collaborate with Compliance and Legal on capital adequacy and safeguarding.

Required profile

• Degree in finance with 5+ years of accounting experience; ACCA/CPA is a plus.
• Crypto accounting experience at a VASP/CASP‑licensed entity or trading company.
• Proven multi‑entity, multi‑currency consolidation across at least three jurisdictions.
• Hands‑on regulatory financial reporting experience (PI/EMI/CASP prudential returns).
• Fluent English.
