Accountant – Fixed-Term (up to 2 years)

About the role

Arvato Systems is looking for an experienced Accountant on a fixed‑term contract (up to 2 years) to join its finance team in Riga. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end payroll, tax reporting and month‑/year‑end closing while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full monthly payroll process, including calculations, reporting and statutory submissions.
• Prepare VAT, corporate income tax and natural resources tax declarations in line with Latvian legislation.
• Participate in month‑end and year‑end closing, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Review vendor records, expense reports and bank payments for compliance.
• Support the Chief Accountant with day‑to‑day accounting activities and drive process optimisation.

Required profile

• Several years of accounting experience with payroll processing and tax reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Latvian accounting and tax legislation (payroll taxes, VAT, corporate income tax).
• Fluent in Latvian and good English communication skills.
• Relevant higher education or professional qualification in Accounting or Finance.

• Advanced MS Excel (large data‑set handling).
• SAP.
• Jumis People.
• Accounting software testing.
