Senior Data Engineer – Data Lakehouse & AWS

About the role

Join Luminor’s Markets and Wealth Unit as a Senior Data Engineer, driving the design, construction and evolution of enterprise‑scale data solutions. You will work hands‑on with modern data engineering practices, shaping a cloud‑native data ecosystem that supports banking analytics and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and own end‑to‑end data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes and scalable data products.
• Develop and operate large‑scale processing solutions on Apache Spark using AWS EMR.
• Implement Data Lakehouse architectures with AWS services, Apache Iceberg, Parquet and object storage.
• Orchestrate complex workflows with Apache Airflow and ensure data quality, reliability and performance.
• Support self‑service analytics via Amazon Athena and downstream reporting in Power BI.
• Mentor engineers, review code and define data models, contracts and platform standards.

Required profile

• Strong experience in enterprise‑scale data engineering and advanced SQL.
• Hands‑on expertise with AWS data services (EMR, Glue, Athena, S3) and modern lakehouse concepts.
• Proven ability to build distributed processing solutions with Apache Spark.
• Solid Python development skills for ETL/ELT and automation.
• Experience modernizing legacy Oracle or Sybase data warehouses is a plus.

• Gross salary €3,700‑€5,900 per month, based on experience.
