Director of Rooms – Luxury Hotel (EU work eligible)

About the role

The Director of Rooms will lead all Rooms Division departments – Front Office, Housekeeping, Laundry, Guest Relations and more – ensuring smooth operations and adherence to Kempinski brand standards at the Riga property.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in strategic planning, prepare forecasts and budgets, and hold full P&L responsibility for the Rooms division.
• Coordinate with Revenue Management and Sales to maximise occupancy, rates and market share.
• Control labour costs and manage duty rosters across sub‑departments.
• Recruit, train, evaluate and develop staff, creating career plans for high‑potential talent.
• Maintain high visibility with guests and staff, lead departmental meetings and drive engagement.
• Ensure quality standards with a minimum 90% mystery‑guest score, conduct daily walk‑throughs and room inspections.
• Collaborate with Fire & Safety to implement up‑to‑date safety procedures.

Required profile

• Vocational training or degree in hospitality.
• Minimum 1 year in a comparable senior role within luxury hospitality, with strong front‑office or housekeeping experience.
• Self‑starting, responsible, high sense of ownership and detail‑oriented.
• Flawless English (spoken and written); Latvian and Russian are a plus.
• EU work eligibility (EU passport or valid Latvian work visa).
