Editor-in-Chief – Lead The Baltic Times

About the role

Daftcode is seeking a full‑time Editor‑in‑Chief to rebuild and run The Baltic Times, an English‑language newspaper covering Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. You will own the editorial vision, strategy and daily operations, turning a quarterly publication into a monthly outlet with growing influence.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the editorial line, voice and content strategy for the newspaper.
• Build the newsroom from scratch, hiring and leading writers, editors and freelancers.
• Scale the publication from a quarterly to a monthly cadence, increasing content volume and readership.
• Oversee coverage of politics, business, economy, culture, society and emerging cyber‑security topics.
• Collaborate with Daftcode’s FinTech and cyber‑security experts to enrich reporting.
• Maintain high editorial standards, fact‑checking and compliance with journalistic ethics.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a publication that covers politics, business, economy or current affairs.
• Deep interest in the Baltic region or willingness to develop expertise.
• Strong independent thinker with a clear editorial vision.
• Fluent English at C2 level.
